Our Managing Director and Co-founder, Mrs. Charlotte Nsengiyumva, delivered an inspiring presentation at the Rotary Club of Kitante under the theme: “Unlocking Uganda’s Potential: How We Can Change the Story Before Age 10.” The event took place at Protea Hotel, Kololo, and brought together leaders, professionals, and changemakers committed to shaping Uganda’s future.
In her remarks, Mrs Nsengiyumva emphasized that the first decade of life is the most critical period for unlocking a child’s potential. The cognitive, emotional, and social foundations formed during these years have a profound influence on a child’s lifelong trajectory, from academic achievement to leadership capacity. She stressed that investing in children before age 10 goes beyond simply about individual success to strengthening entire communities and securing Uganda’s long-term growth.
Drawing on her experience with Teach For Uganda, Mrs. Nsengiyumva shared powerful stories of impact alongside the challenges that persist within the education system. She called for collective action, urging leaders, institutions and communities to prioritize equity in education. Her message was clear: the earlier we act, the greater the ripple effect on Uganda’s future.
The evening concluded with a robust discussion among Rotary members and guests on how multi-sector collaboration can create lasting change. Participants explored ways to ensure that every child in Uganda has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.
We thank the Rotary Club of Kitante for hosting this important dialogue and extend our gratitude to all partners who continue to stand with us in the mission to transform education and unlock Uganda’s potential through its children.
