STEM education is central to Uganda’s future. Yet many learners, especially girls in underserved communities, continue to face barriers to accessing quality science, technology, engineering, and mathematics education.
Teach For Uganda is working to close this gap by strengthening STEM teaching, promoting hands-on learning, and developing young leaders who can inspire learners to see themselves as problem-solvers, innovators, and future leaders.
Our STEM work supports secondary school learners in connecting classroom concepts to real-life challenges, building confidence in science and technology, and exploring pathways into the future of work. We place a strong emphasis on girls’ participation and leadership in STEM because Uganda cannot afford to leave half of its talent behind.
Through STEM education, we are helping learners move from memorizing concepts to applying knowledge, questioning boldly, and imagining new possibilities.
