Foundational literacy and numeracy are the building blocks of every child’s education. Without the ability to read, write, count, reason, and understand basic concepts, children struggle to progress through school and participate fully in life.

Teach For Uganda works with Fellows, schools, and communities to strengthen early learning and help children build the foundational skills they need to succeed. Our approach supports teachers in using learner-centered methods, assessing progress, and responding to children’s learning needs in practical, meaningful ways.

We also integrate climate education and leadership into learning, helping children understand their environment, take responsibility for their communities, and build the confidence to act.
